India Cements Restructures Leadership Following UltraTech Acquisition

India Cements, now majority-owned by UltraTech Cement, has announced significant changes to its top management in marketing and human resources. These adjustments were finalized during a board meeting in the month of January, and subsequently disclosed to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

Key Management Appointments

  • R. Parthasarathy: Formerly the Chief Marketing Officer, Parthasarathy has been appointed as Head – Integration (Sales and Marketing). He brings a wealth of experience from his tenure at RAK Ceramics, Asian Paints, and Roca Bathroom Products (formerly Parryware Roca). An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, he joined India Cements in August 2021.
  • Rajesh Sankar: Appointed as Head – Integration (Manufacturing), Sankar holds a chemical engineering degree and a master’s in environmental science. He offers extensive expertise in manufacturing processes.
  • Prakash Pattanshetty: With over 30 years of experience, Pattanshetty has been named Head – Sales and Marketing. He is a civil engineer with a postgraduate degree in sales and marketing.
  • G. Ramesh: Assuming the role of Vice President – Personnel, Ramesh will oversee personnel management strategies.
  • Ravikrishna Iyer: As Group Head – Human Resources, Iyer will lead HR initiatives across the organization.

Strategic Implications

These leadership changes are part of India Cements’ strategic efforts to integrate with UltraTech Cement following the acquisition. The appointments aim to streamline operations and enhance the company’s market position in the competitive cement industry.
