Brigade Enterprises Limited has announced plans to develop a World Trade Center (WTC) and a business hotel in Thiruvananthapuram, marking a significant expansion of its footprint in Kerala. The company has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Technopark to undertake this project, which is expected to cover approximately 1.5 million square feet across multiple towers.
Strategic Development to Attract IT Multinationals
The new WTC aims to provide Grade A office spaces, catering to the needs of IT multinational companies and contributing to the growth of the IT sector in the region. This development is anticipated to generate over 10,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities, further bolstering Kerala’s position as a hub for technology and innovation.
Continued Commitment to Kerala’s Growth
This initiative follows Brigade Group’s successful expansion in Kochi, where they are developing a third tower at the existing WTC in Infopark, increasing the IT infrastructure to over one million square feet. The company plans to invest approximately ₹1,500 crore in Kerala over the coming years, underscoring its commitment to the state’s economic development.
Leadership and Vision
The MoU was signed by Hrishikesh Nair, Chief Operating Officer of Brigade Enterprises, and Col. Sanjeev Nair, Chief Executive Officer of Technopark. The agreement was presented to Kerala’s Chief Minister, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan, by Mr. M.R. Jaishankar, Executive Chairman of Brigade Enterprises, in the presence of key officials including Chief Secretary Sarada Muraleedharan, IT Secretary Ratan Kelkar, and Managing Director of WTC Vineet Verma.
This strategic development is poised to enhance Thiruvananthapuram’s infrastructure, attract global business investments, and create substantial employment opportunities, reinforcing Kerala’s status as a burgeoning center for commerce and technology.
